Data Analysis

Having spent much time undertaking complex survey data analysis, we can quickly determine whether we can fulfil your requirements, and approximately how long a project will take. Please contact us with your requirements and rest assured that we will not take on work that we have doubts about being able to complete. This is not fair on you, and also causes unnecessary stress for us.

Microsoft Office Macros

Working with Excel can be frustrating. Sometimes you want to do something that seems as though it should be fairly simple, but you can't think how to do it. Sometimes it can't be done using normal spreadsheet functions, but can be done using Microsoft's advanced scripting language.

We can develop Macros quickly for Microsoft Excel and Word to accomplish a variety of tasks. If you think we may be able to help, give us a quick ring and we'll soon tell you whether your task is possible with macros.

Data Enhancement

Despite the best of intentions and preparation, surveys can go wrong, and data can come back from site in a less than perfect state. We can employ heuristic and statistical techniques for improving data sets, to minimise the impact when these things happen. Sometimes surveys need to be carried out again, but sometimes data can be salvaged and considerable cost savings made.

Registration Based Traffic Analysis

Some of our most frequent data analysis tasks over the past few years have been taking vehicle registration data, and using our specially developed matching software, creating Origin-Destination Matrices, Journey Time Summaries, and Car Park Occupancy and Duration of Stay Reports.

We are happy to work with both manually recorded data and data from automatic number-plate recognition (ANPR) systems. Our fuzzy matching algorithms allow us to compensate for sections of missing data and poor quality number plate transcriptions.

GPS Journey Time Analysis

We have developed software that allows us to take GPS track data in various formats and analyse it in conjunction with the waypoints of routes you are interested in. This process yields summary data about the routes, which are easy to understand and use in other applications.

Metrics provided include real times, elapsed times and instantanious speed at each waypoint along the routes. They can also include average speeds, queueing information and timing delays at control points.
